How payment and projects work
Short version: fixed prices, 50% to start and 50% at launch, and a signed project agreement that spells out the details.
Last updated 31 October 2026
This page sums up, in plain language, how a project with KnightWebstudio runs. Before any work starts, you sign a project agreement for your project, and that signed agreement controls the details.
Standard payment terms
Every price is fixed and confirmed in writing before work begins. The standard terms are a 50% deposit to book your project and start work, and the other 50% at launch.
Payment plan
If you'd rather spread the cost, pay the 50% deposit to start, then the rest in up to 3 equal monthly payments. The first monthly payment is due one month after the deposit, so everything is paid within 4 months at most.
On Starter, for example, that's $1,000 down, then about $333 a month for three months.
Invoices and how to pay
Invoices are due within 7 days. You can pay by card or ACH bank transfer through Stripe, our payment processor, or by check on request.
Late payments
If an invoice goes unpaid, we'll send you a written reminder first. If it's still unpaid 10 days after that reminder, interest of 1% per month is added to the overdue amount until it's paid.
Revision rounds
Each package includes a set number of rounds of changes:
- One-page: 1 revision round.
- Starter: 1 revision round.
- Business: up to 3 design rounds, plus a final round of tweaks on the finished site before launch.
- Commerce: up to 3 design rounds, plus a final round of tweaks on the finished site before launch.
Your site's text
On One-page and Starter, you supply the text for your site, and we edit and polish it. On Business and Commerce, we draft the copy and you edit it.
Care plans
Care plans ($125, $300, $600 or $1,000 a month) are billed monthly. To cancel or change your plan, give us 10 days' written notice (email is fine). There's no fee, and the notice gives us time to transfer your accounts and walk you through the handover. Your plan keeps running through the end of the month you've already paid for, and there are no partial refunds. If your written notice arrives less than 10 days before the next billing date, that next month is still billed and service runs through it.
Your project agreement
This page is a summary, not the full contract. The project agreement you sign controls the details, including cancellation fees. If anything here differs from your signed agreement, the agreement applies.
